Basalt Mountain Inn has anchored downtown Basalt since the 1950s, operating from its central location on Midland Avenue where guests are within walking distance of local restaurants, shops, and direct access to the Frying Pan River’s gold-medal fly fishing. The inn sits at a practical midpoint in the Roaring Fork Valley, roughly 25 minutes from Aspen and Snowmass Village, making it a workable base for skiers, anglers, and anyone moving through the valley without paying Aspen lodging rates.

The property completed a full renovation in 2014 that brought modern cabin styling to the original structure without erasing its character. Twenty-five rooms and suites were updated with granite wet bars, Keurig coffee makers, wall-mounted flat screens, air conditioning, and fully remodeled en-suite bathrooms finished with plush towels and white down comforters. Free on-site parking is included for all guests, which is a practical advantage in a downtown location. A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
