Ann Korologos Gallery on Midland Avenue in historic downtown Basalt has been a cornerstone of the Roaring Fork Valley’s fine art scene since its founding in 1993. The gallery’s light-filled, spacious interior is designed to let the work breathe. Ann Korologos Gallery represents painters, sculptors, printmakers, and mixed-media artists whose practices range from bold expressionist compositions in vivid color to finely rendered regional landscapes in oil, bronze and clay sculpture, and layered printmaking that combines linocuts, woodblocks, and lyrical abstraction. Exhibitions rotate thoughtfully, giving collectors and casual visitors alike a reason to return throughout the year. Commissioned work is available, and the gallery’s staff brings the kind of expertise that makes navigating a purchase, whether a first piece or an addition to an established collection, a straightforward and informed process.

What distinguishes Ann Korologos Gallery within the valley’s arts landscape is the consistency of its programming and the caliber of artists it attracts. The Basalt location draws collectors from Aspen and beyond who are specifically looking for serious contemporary Western work rather than resort-market art. It orignially opened as The Basalt Gallery under Jody Ensign and Susan Manchee. Ann Korologos, a widely respected businesswoman and devoted collector, purchased the gallery in 2006 and moved it to its current Midland Avenue location, lending the space the name it carries today. In 2025, co-ownership passed to Sue Edmonds and Claire de L’Arbre, who had served as Gallery Director and Marketing Director respectively since 2019 and 2017, continuing a curatorial vision built on deep artist relationships and a genuine commitment to contemporary Western art now in its thirty-third year.
