Carl’s Pharmacy is a full-service pharmacy and general store established in 1965 when Carl and Katie Bergman purchased a small drug store at the corner of Monarch and Main Street in downtown Aspen, Colorado. The business expanded significantly in 1968 with the addition of a second floor, allowing Carl’s Pharmacy to better serve the growing community’s needs. For nearly 60 years, the store has operated as a trusted healthcare and convenience destination on East Main Street in the Roaring Fork Valley.

The pharmacy department operates seven days a week from 9 AM to 6 PM daily, with a pharmacist on duty during all regular store hours. Store hours are subject to change, and customers are encouraged to call ahead to confirm availability. Pharmacists remain available to answer prescription questions and provide over-the-counter medication recommendations. Carl’s Pharmacy specializes in prescription medications, health supplies, and medical equipment while offering comprehensive pharmacy services, medication consultations, and health screenings.

The first floor features an extensive variety of health and beauty products including hair, skin, nail, bath and body care items. Customers will find over-the-counter medications, baby products, Hallmark and Avanti greeting cards, books, gift wrap, and party supplies. The cosmetic counter carries Aspen’s top brands of skincare, sun care, makeup, fragrances, and nail care products. The back area behind the stairs stocks nutrition supplements, energy drinks and bars, snacks, chips, soft drinks, candy, ice cream, and household cleaning items. Carl’s Pharmacy operates a wine cellar and liquor department offering domestic and imported beers, fine spirits, and wines for every occasion. The knowledgeable staff assists customers seeking specialty selections from the extensive inventory developed over 60 years of operation.

The second floor has been voted Aspen’s number one toy store by Kids Who Know Toys. This level features toys, games, books, arts and crafts supplies, school and art supplies, Aspen souvenirs and gifts, electronics and accessories, sporting goods, hiking equipment, housewares, video games, hats, wigs, costumes, picture frames, jewelry, bed and bath items, clothing, and sewing notions.
