Community Thrift & Treasure Description

Community Thrift & Treasure has operated as a non-profit thrift store in Glenwood Springs since 2011, with a mission centered on fostering peace, compassion, and community support throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. The organization grew from founders who originally sourced inventory from local landfills and authorized dumpster diving to keep usable goods out of the waste stream, a sustainability ethos that continues to shape how the store operates. Every purchase made at any location directly funds that non-profit mission.

The Glenwood Springs location on South Glen Avenue carries the valley’s largest selection of pre-loved goods across apparel and shoes for the whole family, furniture ranging from small accents to statement pieces, antiques and vintage collectibles, kitchenware, linens, home decor, books, toys, sporting goods, and tools and workshop equipment. Shelves are restocked daily, making repeat visits reliably worthwhile for regular shoppers.

Community Thrift & Treasure expanded in 2021 with the opening of Cattle Creek Thrift & Furniture in Carbondale, nine miles from the original Glenwood location. That store includes a dedicated Sacred Space used for community art, music, and movement classes, extending the organization’s community role beyond retail. A third location in Clifton rounds out the network of stores serving the broader region.
