Operating as a seasonal pop-up experience, this unique attraction transforms Kodiak Ski Lake into an icy racetrack during the coldest months of winter. Open between Christmas and late February, weather permitting, Aspen Ice Karting provides an adrenaline-filled alternative to skiing and snowboarding for those looking to add something unexpected to their Aspen itinerary.

The facility is set on Kodiak Ski Lake, a shallow, man-made lake that reliably freezes over in mid-winter. Surrounded by snowy scenery and mountain views, the frozen lake creates a striking and memorable backdrop for ice kart racing. Aspen Ice Karting uses CRG-frame karts powered by 12-horsepower Briggs & Stratton engines, capable of reaching speeds between 45 and 50 miles per hour. The karts are outfitted with specialized Heidenau snow tires and Kold Kutter ice screws, providing the traction needed to maneuver confidently across the ice.

Located at 401 Tree Farm Drive in El Jebel, directly across from Willits Town Center and Whole Foods Market, the venue is approximately 25 minutes from Aspen and Snowmass. The central mid-valley location makes it easy to combine ice karting with dining, shopping, or relaxation at nearby restaurants, shops, and the Fahrenheit Day Spa. Operating hours typically run from 9 am to 2 pm, seven days a week, though conditions such as warm weather or snowfall may temporarily close the track to ensure safety and optimal ice quality.
