Aspen Youth Center Description

Aspen Youth Center is a private 501c3 youth nonprofit providing free programming for youth who have completed third grade through twelfth grade since 1991. The center offers a safe and supportive environment where young people connect, learn, and grow during out-of-school hours, regardless of where they live or attend school. Aspen Youth Center is open Monday through Friday from 2pm to 6pm during the school year and 9am to 5pm during summer months, with additional hours on snow days, assessment days, school breaks, and some holidays.

Daily staff-led programs include Art Spot, Top Chef, Mad Science, Academic Support, Dodgeball, game room tournaments, and Outdoor Explore. Outdoor Explore offers activities such as rafting, rock climbing, horseback riding, flights, environmental education, and other outdoor adventures that reflect seasonal opportunities in the area. Special programs throughout the year include fencing, wrestling, yoga, dance, and tennis. The facility features a game room with air hockey, ping pong, bumper pool, pool, and foosball, along with a media room, full kitchen, and half-sized basketball court. Programming encourages personal development, social interaction, and healthy recreation while supporting working families and promoting equity by ensuring all young residents have access to quality after-school and summer programming.

Aspen Youth Center hosts multiple fundraising events annually in partnership with sponsors and supporters, including the Aspen Valley Marathon, fall field day Aether Games, and a signature spring Gala. Field trips are added to the full calendar throughout the year, with sign-ups opening one to two weeks prior to each trip. Membership is free but requires completing a membership form. The center plays an important role in the Roaring Fork Valley by providing accessible programming that contributes to the larger network of family and education services.
