Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park

Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park Description
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park operates as America’s only mountaintop theme park at 51000 Two Rivers Plaza Road above Glenwood Springs at an elevation of 7,100 feet. Originally known for extensive cave tours, the park expanded significantly after 2003 to include a variety of attractions, rides, and seasonal events that blend natural history with modern adventure. Visitors hop aboard a scenic gondola ride soaring to the top of Iron Mountain where the fun begins with Colorado’s longest Alpine Coaster, epic Laser Tag arena battles, multi-sensory thrills in the 4D Motion Theater, and underground journeys through stunning National Natural Landmark caves including The Historic Fairy Cave and King’s Row.
The park features thrill rides including the Defiance Roller Coaster with a record-breaking 102.3-degree freefall in fifty-six seconds, the Cliffhanger Coaster as North America’s highest coaster at 7,160 feet offering breathtaking views of the Colorado River, the Giant Canyon Swing launching riders nearly vertical at fifty miles per hour, the Glenwood Canyon Flyer providing whirlwind sensations, and Crystal Tower featuring a thrilling freefall through a magic portal to the vibrant Crystal Grotto. Current open attractions include the Glenwood Gondola, Alpine Coaster, Cave Tours, and Laser Tag, while rides like the Giant Canyon Swing, Crystal Tower, Defiance Roller Coaster, Glenwood Canyon Flyer, Cliffhanger Roller Coaster, Wild West Express, Mine Wheel, and Giddy Up Ride remain closed for winter season.
Cave tours include King’s Row and Fairy Cave Tours running approximately forty minutes each, Blacklight Cave Tour not included with Funday tickets, and Wild Cave Tour available by appointment only, with last entry time ninety minutes prior to closing. The Lookout Grille serves tasty eats and seasonal beverages with panoramic mountain views for hungry visitors. Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park hosts Music on the Mountain concert series featuring nationally recognized performers, themed nights with creative drink specials, and five-dollar Donation Tickets after 5:00 PM supporting local nonprofits. Octoberfest celebrations occur in fall 2026 on September 19 and 26, October 3 and 10, featuring traditional German food, lively music, frosty pints, festive games, and stein-holding contests. Friday Afternoon Club runs select Fridays in the Winter Garden from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM featuring Colorado artists with live music, food, drinks, and free gondola tickets for guests mentioning “Friday” at the ticket window after 4:00 PM.
