Snowmass Bike Park
Snowmass Bike Park Description
Snowmass Bike Park operates during summer with 25 miles of mountain biking trails descending nearly 3,000 vertical feet from Elk Camp Chairlift to the base village. The park features trail options from beginner-friendly routes to technical downhill runs, earning Gold-Level status in Colorado for its trail variety and facilities. Most trails are purpose-built for mountain biking rather than converted hiking paths, designed for flow and bike traffic management.
The Elk Camp Chairlift provides uphill transportation, allowing riders to focus on downhill riding. Summer operations typically run from late May or June through September, with dates varying based on weather conditions. Trail conditions are usually best in mid to late summer after spring snowmelt dries out. Bike rentals are available at the base, along with a repair shop for maintenance and repairs. Most riders complete multiple runs per day since the lift eliminates uphill pedaling.
Snowmass Bike Park is located in Snowmass Village as part of the Aspen Snowmass system, with winter ski slopes transforming into summer mountain bike terrain. The park is accessible from locations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley. The trail system connects with hiking paths and other summer activities, with trail-sharing rules applying to certain routes during peak hours. The facility ranks among Colorado’s better lift-served bike parks for terrain variety accessible in a single day.
