Snowmass Ski Resort Description

Snowmass Ski Resort is the largest of the four mountains comprising the Aspen Snowmass destination, covering more than 3,300 acres of skiable terrain with 98 trails spanning 150 miles. Located at 239 Snowmass Club Circle in Snowmass Village, the resort operates during the winter season from late fall through early spring depending on snow conditions. The mountain is served by 20 lifts providing access to varied terrain that ranges from gentle groomers to over 1,000 acres of double-black diamond runs, along with extensive gladed areas and mogul fields.

As the third largest ski area in Colorado, Snowmass Ski Resort maintains an average density of two skiers per acre across its expansive footprint. The resort features three terrain parks with more than 80 features including beginner boxes and a 22-foot Superpipe, catering to freestyle skiers and snowboarders at all progression levels. The mountain’s top-rated ski school and wide-open beginner-friendly runs make it particularly suitable for families and those new to snow sports, while advanced riders can explore challenging steep terrain and tree skiing.

One lift ticket grants access to all four Aspen Snowmass mountains, including Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk, which are located within 15 minutes of each other. Snowmass Ski Resort serves as the base for the Elk Camp Gondola and houses the Snowmass Mountain Club within Limelight Snowmass in Base Village.

Lift tickets are available for purchase on any day of the season with no blackout dates and include access to all four mountains. Season passes are offered for those planning multiple visits, while sightseeing tickets provide gondola and chairlift access for non-skiers interested in on-mountain dining and scenic views. The resort also participates in the Ikon Pass program, offering seven days of access, and The Mountain Collective pass, which provides two days plus discounted additional days. Spring skiing extends into warmer months with later lift operations and après events.
