Steves Guitars

Steve’s Guitars is a 50-seat live music venue located in the Dinkel Building on Fourth Street in downtown Carbondale, Colorado. Established in 1993, Steve’s Guitars has presented weekly live music performances for more than three decades. The venue operates as a dedicated listening room rather than a bar, restaurant, or coffee shop, with programming centered exclusively on live performance.

Events at Steve’s Guitars typically begin at 8:00 p.m., and guests are requested to arrive and be seated at least 15 minutes prior to showtime to minimize disruptions. The space features an intimate layout with vintage guitars displayed throughout the room, former theater seating, and couches. Seating can be reconfigured to allow additional standing room depending on the performance.

Programming at Steve’s Guitars includes touring and regional musicians across genres, along with recurring community events such as Jazz Jam Tuesdays. The first Tuesday of each month is designated for a beginners jazz jam, and the third Thursday hosts an advanced jazz jam. Both sessions are open to the public. A qualified sound engineer is present at each show. Most concerts are mixed by Ralph Pitt, an experienced front-of-house and monitor engineer who has worked in live music and system design for decades, including past projects with the original Belly Up venues in Aspen and Solana Beach.

Most performances at Steve’s Guitars are recorded and archived through a partnership with Grassroots Community Network, with shows streamed or made available on the Grassroots TV YouTube channel. Select concerts are live-streamed. Steve’s Guitars accepts booking inquiries through an online submission process, where artists provide background information and performance samples for review.
