Strawberry Days
Strawberry Days Description
Glenwood Springs Strawberry Days Festival is Colorado’s oldest continuously running civic festival, held annually on the third full weekend in June at Two Rivers Park in Glenwood Springs, specifically June 19, 20, & 21 2026. Now in its 129th year, the three-day event traces its roots to 1898, when the Tri-County Farmer’s Union established it to promote regional fruit growers across the Western Slope. What began as an agricultural showcase has grown into one of the region’s most attended summer gatherings, drawing locals and visitors together across a full weekend of free programming that spans arts, music, parade traditions, and modern spectacle while keeping its community character largely intact.
The Saturday morning hometown parade is the festival’s centerpiece, stepping off promptly at 10:00 a.m. near Glenwood Springs High School and traveling north down Pitkin Avenue past City Hall along Eighth Street before wrapping near Seventh Street. Immediately following the parade, the Kiwanis Club serves free strawberries and ice cream to thousands of attendees at Two Rivers Park, a tradition that has continued unbroken for well over a century and remains the defining ritual of the weekend. Friday and Saturday evening programming runs until 10:00 p.m., with Sunday hours wrapping at 4:00 p.m. Live main-stage musical performances are free throughout the weekend, and an arts and crafts fair brings regional vendors and artisans into the park across all three days.
Strawberry Days Festival has added a modern layer to its 2026 programming through a drone light show scheduled for Saturday at 9:10 p.m., part of the statewide Stories in the Sky series developed in partnership with the America 250 Colorado 150 Commission and the Colorado Tourism Office, featuring nearly 150 community drone shows across the state through the end of 2026. The show takes place above the confluence of the Colorado and Roaring Fork Rivers, giving the display a setting that amplifies the surrounding canyon landscape. Admission to Strawberry Days Festival is free across all three days, making it one of the most accessible major events on the Roaring Fork Valley summer calendar.
